My Practice

My approach is non-judgemental, compassionate and tailored to your needs. Counselling changes lives but most importantly it helps you to change your life yourself. Whether you need a supportive ear or a little more direction, I will adapt to your needs.

Like many Counsellors offering support, my aim is to support you and empower you to make positive changes in your life. My approach is underpinned by Person-Centred counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I may use both forms depending on your needs. If it interests you, please read below to find out more about the approaches.

How people experience therapy

Person-centred therapy, is a humanistic approach that deals with the ways in which individuals perceive themselves consciously, rather than how a counsellor can interpret their unconscious thoughts or ideas.

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a type of talking therapy. It is a common treatment for a range of mental health problems. CBT teaches you coping skills for dealing with different problems. It focuses on how your thoughts, beliefs and attitudes affect your feelings and actions.

As a member of the BACP, I have supervision and training each month to oversee my client work so I can ensure I am working with you ethically and in the best way for you.
